Total Lifelong Catechesis (TLC) is a whole new way of understanding what our role and mission is as disciples of Jesus Christ!

We should be spending our entire lives growing in an intimate relationship with God. The reality of Christian growth is that children learn and live what they experience at home. If Jesus is not visibly present at home and in their parents, they may not/cannot learn from Catholic Schools or Parish Religious Education programs what they need to experience the life of God.

Students age 3 through Grade 9 meet for TLC Kids each Wednesday from 6 -7:30 pm, with parents joining once a month for TLC Family.

TLC Kids, Pre-K through Grade 7 will be doing Catechesis of the Good Shepherd for their faith formation this year.  Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is a Montessori-based program that teaches children about Scripture and the Liturgy using carefully designed materials for students to work with.

TLC Family, once a month from 6-7:30 pm, will begin with a teaching Mass, followed by cupcakes and a group craft, activity or service project.

What about the Sacraments?

Most children receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Eucharist in second grade.  This year First Holy Eucharist will take place on Sunday, April 30 at 9 am Mass.

Confirmation at St. John the Baptist is a two-year program, usually starting in eighth grade with teens being Confirmed in their second year.  This year's second year Confirmation students will be Confirmed at the St Paul Cathedral on Sunday, April 23 with the Confirmation Mass beginning at 2 pm.
